Empowering Employees: How 4PS Life Promotes Wellbeing and Teamwork

At 4PS UK, we understand that our employees are our greatest asset and that investing in their wellbeing is crucial to our success. That’s why we introduced 4PS Life – a programme designed to promote employee health and happiness.

Employee wellbeing is important because it helps reduce stress, improve job satisfaction and engagement, increase productivity and creativity, and ultimately create a more positive and successful workplace. When our employees thrive, they bring their best selves to work and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.

4PS Life is just one of the ways that we have committed to creating a supportive and fulfilling work environment for our employees. Some of the initiatives that we ran last year and will continue during 2023 include:

  • Teambuilding activities. We believe these are important because they help to improve communication, increase collaboration, boost morale, and strengthen relationships among team members, leading to a more productive, efficient, and successful work environment.
  • Workshops on how to manage stress at work because managing stress leads to better employee health, increased productivity, job satisfaction, and improved overall work performance, which benefits both employees and the company.
  • Accredited mental health first aiders in the workplace create a supportive and understanding environment, help destigmatise mental health issues, and provide employees with a resource for addressing and managing their mental health needs.
  • Menopause awareness sessions. These are important for both men and women as they promote understanding, empathy, and support for the physical and emotional changes that women experience during this transition period, improve relationships, foster inclusive and supportive work environments, and help break down stigma and misconceptions.
  • The 4PS allotment allows employees to engage in physical activity and exercise. It can provide a welcome escape from work stress, as gardening and exposure to nature have been shown to improve mental health and wellbeing. There’s also the benefit of enjoying freshly grown produce and contributing to a more sustainable and eco-friendlier workplace.
  • Regular opportunities to have in-office seated massages. These are great because they provide physical and mental benefits, including reducing stress and tension, improving mood, increasing relaxation and focus, and boosting overall wellbeing.
  • Exercise challenges on a team or individual basis are great for promoting physical activity, improving overall health and wellbeing, boosting morale and team building – all while providing a fun and engaging way to improve health and wellness in the workplace!
  • Communal ‘bring and share lunches’ promote community and team spirit among colleagues. They provide a break from the workday routine and allow employees to show off their culinary skills and share their culture and traditions.
  • The new employee benefits platform that we have introduced helps employees save on their everyday living expenses, with access to over 5,000 rewards, discounts and vouchers, including supermarkets, high street, independent retailers, cinema tickets and UK-wide days out, and access to a parent support app and subsidised mental health counselling.

We are committed to supporting our employees’ wellbeing as we believe that investing in the health and happiness of our employees is essential to our success. This has only become more important over the past few years. We will continue exploring new initiatives and opportunities to enhance the programme and make it even more effective.

This year we are introducing more soft skills training for all employees. Time management and personal leadership workshops offer an opportunity to reflect on personal behaviour and goals, providing the tools to enable people to become more confident in their work.

Our ultimate goal is to create a supportive, fulfilling workplace that makes a difference in the lives of our employees, and we are confident that we’re taking significant steps towards this!
