ERP implementation in Construction – a look behind the scenes at 4PS

We, at 4PS, have successfully completed more than 600 ERP implementations in the construction industry. Here, we share an eye-opening conversation with a customer which will change the way you look at construction software implementation.

4PS has been delivering software solutions specifically developed for the construction industry for more than 20 years now and we have many exciting stories to share. However, there’s one in particular that jumps straight to mind – it has to do with the contract signing of one of our customers a few years ago.

To give you a bit of context, after thorough preparation both our customer and us were ready to sign contracts officially. Both parties were quite excited to start working together and introduce more efficient processes to their business.

No nonsense when implementing ERP software

At that point both parties were ready for the implementation process and we were having a general chat when the customer asked a rather unusual question: ‘Do you ever go to the hairdresser’s?’

The question was surprising and seemingly unrelated to the ERP discussion. Then the customer continued: ‘When I go to the hairdresser, I would like to have a haircut. I don’t want colouring, touch-ups, conditioning or any other nonsense. This is what I expect from the ERP implementation too – a well-organised process that meets our objectives.’

Providing a standard pre-configured software solution

Our customer was absolutely right – the implementation process should be simple, straight-forward and driven by the set goals. This is the very principle we adhere to. Furthermore, over the years we developed a standard pre-configured solution that has proven itself effective hundreds of times in the construction industry with a number of customer success stories. Our solution is implemented through a specifically designed methodology Contoso that aims to keep the entire process sleek and efficient. How does this process work today?
