4PS UK Achieves Thrive at Work Bronze Accreditation

4PS by Hilti – UK has achieved Thrive at Work Bronze accreditation, recognising the steps we’re taking to support employee wellbeing across the business. For us, this was about listening to our people and strengthening the foundations we already have in place. Read on to learn more about the process, the feedback, and what’s next.

We’re pleased to share that 4PS by Hilti – UK has achieved Bronze accreditation as part of the Thrive at Work programme – a recognised framework that helps organisations build healthier, more supportive workplaces.

For us, this was about more than an accreditation. It was an opportunity to reflect on our everyday culture, listen to feedback, and strengthen our support for wellbeing across the business.

What is Thrive at Work?

Thrive at Work is a workplace commitment that provides clear criteria and practical guidance for improving employee health and well-being. It focuses on the foundations that really matter, including:

  • Mental health
  • Physical and musculoskeletal health
  • Healthy lifestyles
  • Policies, procedures, attendance and absence management
  • How well-being is communicated and supported across the business

Since its launch, Thrive at Work has signed up over 600 Midlands-based organisations and supported more than 300,000 employees across the region.

What Bronze Level Means

The Bronze level is all about putting the right information, structures and communication in place so employees can make healthier choices.

For businesses, this includes:

  • Sharing clear, accessible wellbeing information
  • Promoting internal and local wellbeing resources
  • Creating a safe working environment that supports healthy habits
  • Communicating wellbeing initiatives through everyday channels such as Teams, newsletters and internal updates

Importantly, Bronze accreditation shows an organisation understands the link between wellbeing, productivity and performance – and is actively working to support it.

Our Results

As part of the assessment, we submitted evidence through the Thrive at Work portal and achieved 100% compliance with all Bronze criteria.

The review included an employee wellbeing survey, staff interviews across different roles and seniority levels and a detailed review of our policies, communications and wellbeing initiatives

We were awarded Bronze level across all key areas:

  • Enablers of Health
  • Mental Health
  • Musculoskeletal Health
  • Lifestyles

What the Feedback Told Us

The assessment highlighted many positives across our culture and approach to wellbeing:

  • 94% of employees are aware of our Health Champions
  • 89% recognise that we have a wellbeing policy in place
  • Strong relationships and flexible working were consistently mentioned as positives
  • Open communication with senior management was confirmed by all respondents
  • 84% of employees are aware of mental health support, including Mental Health First Aiders and mindfulness sessions

We also saw encouraging behavioural shifts:

  • 68% reported positive changes in mental health practices
  • 42% increased their physical activity
  • 29% made healthier eating choices

These are small changes individually, but together they point to a growing wellbeing culture.

What’s Next?

One of the most valuable parts of the process was identifying where we can do better.  These insights are already feeding into our next steps and action plans. Bronze is not the finish line – it’s the foundation.

We’ll continue building on this work by strengthening how we communicate policies and support, and making wellbeing part of everyday conversations.

Achieving Thrive at Work Bronze confirms we’re moving in the right direction – and gives us a clear framework for what comes next.

Feeling supported and listened to matters, and it’s something we want to keep improving.
